M38 Camouflage paratrooper helmet
For sale is a fine, completely original example of a camouflage
Fallschirmjager helmet that has been in one collection since the 1980s. The
shell is marked ET68, with a lot number of 39. The early spanner bolts are
crisp, and not knurled. The grass-green and tan (probably Normandy) camo
finish is about 92% and a portion of the wing of the Luft eagle peeks out from
underneath the camouflage finish. The liner shows combat use and wear, but is
supple. There is a mold and blood stain area in the front portion, and also a
name and unit written in the center of the liner. One half of the chinstrap
assembly is present, but half has been removed. I presume it was cut at the
time of capture, then at some point the remaining ends were removed. This
helmet would make a fabulous addition to an advanced paratrooper collection,
and carries a lifetime guarantee of authenticity to the buyer. SOLD
M35 Double decal Luftwaffe helmet, fighter squadron unit marked
Offered for sale is a mint example of a very rare and desirable "Schlageter" Night Figher Squadron marked Luftwaffe M-35 helmet. The shell is a Q-62, with a mint matte blue-grey finish and mint liner. The shell bears no dome stamp, and has a very low lot number. This, combined with the 1931 dated liner, suggests the helmet is a prototypical piece, issued to the squadron at a very early date. The decals are the early round bottom national colors and matching "thick border" Luftwaffe eagle, further indicating an early issue period for this helmet. The bonus features on this helmet are the property stampings on the inside and outside of the liner, indicating both the earlier and later unit designations for "Schlageter." The liner is also named, and is possibly a research piece. The helmet comes with a copy of the research document showing the unit designations, as well as a certificate of lifetime guarantee of authenticity for the helmet SOLD
